Westchester County Police Increase Inspections Around Mosques and Houses of Worship

– In an abundance of caution, Westchester County Police will be increasing inspections around mosques, Islamic centers and other houses of worship.

Detectives are also working in collaboration with federal and state law enforcement partners to receive and share intelligence information associated with the shooting yesterday at a mosque in San Diego. Investigators assigned to the Real Time Crime Center will share information immediately with municipal agencies in our County and region regarding any potential threats to Westchester or the Hudson Valley.

Again, these steps are being taken in an abundance of caution. There is no specific threat to Westchester County at this time.
