Westchester County Makes Tech Week History

Element 46 Alumna SafeStops Global, Inc. Brings Tech Week NYC to Westchester for the First Time

Westchester County has officially joined the national Tech Week calendar for the first time, placing the County on a national platform alongside Google, OpenAI, IBM and hundreds of leading tech companies. Presented by a16z, the platform is the world’s largest decentralized tech conference that reaches over 300,000 founders, investors and decision-makers.

Behind the County’s inaugural Tech Week presence is a partnership with SafeStops Global, Inc. and its Founder & CEO, Adrienne Michel, who is an alumna of the County’s Tech Accelerator Program, Element 46.

Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins said: “This milestone further establishes Westchester County as a contributor to the national innovation conversation, expanding on the impact of our Element 46 program and giving local founders and leaders a seat at the tech table. Adrienne Michel and SafeStops Global are amazing examples of the talent here in Westchester that we have prioritized supporting over the past eight years.”

Westchester County Director of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Development Deborah Novick said: “Westchester County is home to a creative and collaborative community of entrepreneurs. Tech Week Westchester is a natural extension of the innovation ecosystem we have been building — and a powerful signal that Westchester’s most ambitious founders are ready to compete on the national stage.”

Michel said: "Westchester has always had the talent and ambition to compete nationally. SafeStops Global is proud to bring Tech Week to Westchester, and this is just the beginning."

Tech Week Westchester arrives at a moment of significant momentum for Westchester’s innovation landscape. The County’s Element 46 Tech Accelerator is now in its eleventh cohort and has supported over 100 investor-backed tech startups that have collectively raised more than $31 million in venture capital and generated multiple acquisitions. Along with Element 46, the County’s Office of Economic Development has also deepened its investment in innovation through its strategic support of sectors including life sciences, tech, clean energy and quantum through its Connect Westchester program and RPI + Westchester County Partnership,

Tech Week Westchester is coordinated by SafeStops Global, Inc. in partnership with Westchester County Economic Development and QUAY Acceleration.

QUAY Acceleration Co-Founder John Lynn said: “QUAY Acceleration is proud to co-host Tech Week Westchester alongside SafeStops Global. In four years, Element 46 has supported over 100 investor-backed startups who have collectively raised millions in venture capital. Tech Week gives those founders and the next generation of Westchester innovators a national platform to tell their story.”
